Some people say that his wife has had a huge contribution to his metamorphosis from a lad like any other into a stylish star. Well, it is just an opinion that Victoria’s fans happen to share... I believe that David Beckham would not be a model to so many of us if he hadn’t had that star quality form the very beginning. He first revolutionized his look with those blonde highlights in 1999 and then shaved his hair the following year; quite a sudden change! As he seemed so comfortable with his new look, he kept it for another year.

In 2002, the mahawk style he adopted was copied by a lot of fans all over the world. In the same year, David turned to blonde spikes which gave him a different look in a flash. Hair continued to grow so in 2003 he already got another look (his hair was longer and styled sideways; some said it was a bit ‘feminine’).

Long hair calls for a headband so why wouldn’t a guy wear one? He looked very nice with that too. Is a pony tail for girls only? David did prove that a man does not necessarily lose his masculinity if he adopts such a style. A beautiful face like that must be kept uncovered. Similarly, the corn rows that he used to wear the same year made him look fresh and charming as always.

Tired of experimenting, Beckham re-turned to the shaved head in 2004 and by the following year his hair had already grown back. In 2006, he pioneered the messy look and one year later he again changed his hairstyle and colour to make it match his wife’s new look. Then, a bit more peroxide and David started looking so Celtic – cool! At the end of 2007 his hair was still blonde but much shorter.

And now, his shaved head again makes him stand out in the ‘celebrity’ crowd, with that perfect face and gorgeous smile.
